The Catholic Church is not just another humanitarian organization trying to do nice things today

It goes without saying, as soon as read the Gospels, and see what Jesus is about, you cannot pretend like we are not mandated to a specific service here and now in this moment.

However, there is something that happens in the Church that is too supernatural, too spectacular for words, too amazing for description, some people may never get it.

If I really was a Catholic only to do some nice things in the world, I would have probably left years ago. The simple fact is, I could join any other humanitarian organization in the world doing nice things for people. It would be easier, I certainly wouldn’t have to deal with people harboring on child-molester priests, or accusations of homophobia.

There is something too special and meaningful that transcends this very moment that has swept me up into a magnificent adventure that I could never leave behind to be a typical twenty something fighting weekend hangovers, worried about the next hook up, and addicted to anti-depressent meds.
